1986

Short, slow tow planned for beginners. Clearning and grading of site just east of Mach. hw

Clearing and grading was done for the “Turtle” tow. A 45 ft base pole, a head pole, and guy poles were set in place. Plans were made for installation of rope and drive equipment in 87. hr

1987

Revision to Super Worm occurred in the summer of 1987. dc87

Built in summer of 1986-1987. The driving machinery, transferred intact, originally operated the Worm tow. This area was built to provide a new, safe, beginner tow area.

New rope tow made with parts donated by Crystal Mountain and salvaged from Worm Tow, Electric motor 7.5 HP, Vertical 30’, length 190’, speed: very slow. hw

For downhill skiers, a new Beginners Ski Area was developed with a grade of seven degrees or less (the Turtle tow) and long, safe runouts. The old Worm Tow was relocated to this area. hr

1990

Meany Ski Lodge continues to operate their downhill rope tows, and in fact, has added a beginner tow. ma83
